Yuki-onna
I’ve been meaning to draw a few mythical creatures for a while, so spending some time to bring the Yuki-onna to life was a lot of fun. Getting the perspective down was a bit of a challenge but nonetheless it turned out pretty good!
Rough Draft
I wanted to build a sense of dominance between the viewer and the art piece by having Yuki hold the higher ground. Making it appear as if she is above us, looking down.
Tight Sketch
Once the perspective was figured out, I started playing with the shape of her face. Since the Yuki is known for being beautiful, it was important for me to make sure I got the face just right.
